Who we are

Planfolk ("Planfolk", "we", "us" or "our") runs the online shop at planfolk.com. We design digital planners, journals, editable templates and spreadsheets. About these terms

These terms apply when you visit our shop or buy from us. By using the shop or placing an order, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy policy and our Refund policy, which form part of these terms. Our shop is powered by Shopify.

Our products are digital

Everything we sell is an instant digital download. We sell hyperlinked PDF planners and journals designed for note-taking apps on tablets, editable PowerPoint templates such as wedding seating-chart signs and vacation rental welcome books, and spreadsheet templates for Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. Nothing is printed or shipped.

After checkout, your download link appears on your order page and in your confirmation email. Please download your files soon after purchase and keep a copy on your own device. For a spreadsheet, make your own Google Sheets copy from the link and keep the Excel file too. If you have trouble downloading or later lose access to your files, contact us and we'll help.

How you may use the files

When you buy a product, we give you a license to use it. You are buying the right to use the file, not ownership of the design. The license for each product is shown on its product page. In short:

  • Planners and journals: for your personal use only. Please don't share, resell or redistribute the files.
  • Spreadsheets: for your personal use only. You may make as many copies as you need for yourself, and share your own copy with the people helping you plan, such as a partner or family member. Please don't share, resell or redistribute the blank template, whether as the Excel file or the Google Sheets link.
  • End-of-life planner: you may share your filled-in copy with your family, but please don't resell or pass on the blank files.
  • Seating-chart templates: for your own event. You may have your finished signs printed at a print shop.
  • Vacation rental welcome books: licensed for use in your own rental properties. You may print your finished welcome book and share your completed copy with your guests, but please don't share or resell the template.

You may print any of our files for your own use, at home or at a print shop.

For every product, you may not resell, share, give away, upload or redistribute the blank or editable files, whether as they are or changed, and you may not use them to make products for sale. If you'd like to use a file in a way not covered here, please ask us first.

Check compatibility before you buy

Please check that our files work with your device and software before you buy. Each product page lists what the file is made for:

  • PDF planners and journals are designed for an iPad or Android tablet with a note-taking app that keeps PDF links, such as Goodnotes, Notability, Noteshelf, Xodo or Samsung Notes.
  • Editable templates are made for Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx) and also open in Google Slides and Keynote. Some spacing may shift slightly outside PowerPoint.
  • Spreadsheets work in Google Sheets (with a free Google account, by making your own copy from the link in the PDF) and in Microsoft Excel 2016 or newer (.xlsx). Charts and formatting may look slightly different between the two.

Apps and devices change over time, and we can't guarantee that every feature will work in every app or version.

Product images and colors

We try to show our products as accurately as we can. Colors can look slightly different from screen to screen and from printer to printer, and sample text and photos in our product images are only examples.

Organizers, not professional advice

Our planners, journals, templates and spreadsheets are tools to help you organize your own information. Spreadsheets calculate from the figures you enter, so their results are only as accurate as those figures. They are not legal, financial, medical, tax or other professional advice. For decisions in those areas, please talk to a qualified professional.

Intellectual property

All designs, layouts, artwork, text and files in our shop belong to Planfolk or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Buying a product gives you the license described above, not ownership of the design. Fonts included with some templates are free fonts supplied under their own open licenses.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars. Payment is handled securely through Shopify checkout. We may change our prices or update or remove products at any time, but a price change won't affect an order you have already paid for. If we make a pricing error, we may cancel the affected order and refund you in full.

Refunds

Because our products are digital downloads, all sales are final, but we will always help if something isn't working. Please see our Refund policy for the details.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Our shop and products are provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee that the shop will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that every product will meet your expectations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Planfolk and our team will not be liable for any injury, loss or claim, or for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages of any kind, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings or loss of data, arising from your use of our shop or any product you buy from us. Some states and countries don't allow these exclusions or limits, so in those places our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms affects rights you have under consumer laws that can't be waived.

Other things to know

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms still apply. If we don't enforce a part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. The terms in place when you placed your order apply to that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, except where the law of the place you live requires otherwise.
