The Citrus & Herb look

Citrus & Herb is the fresh, light kitchen: think a sunny counter rather than a farmhouse table. The cover is a deep green panel with slices of lemon, orange and lime, a glass of lemonade and green sprigs, beside the title in a dark herb-green serif with three small dots in lemon, orange and lime.

Inside, the pages are warm white. A thin line runs along the top of every page from a lemon slice to a lime slice with a leaf, starting in yellow and turning green. The tabs along the bottom are soft pills in pale peach, mint and green, each with a small colored dot, and the section you're in turns deep green. Checkboxes on the grocery lists are round, and the week and recipe numbers sit in solid green circles.

The colors also help you find your place: the recipe category buttons on the contents page each have their own pale tint, and on the Theme Nights page every night card is a different soft color.

Printing: the page background is warm white with pale tints, so inside pages print lightly; the deep green cover uses the most ink. Choose landscape and "fit to page" on US Letter or A4.

How do I find a recipe quickly? Open the recipe index and tap its number, or tap a category to see the names you've written. Write that number on your meal plan: from any page, the Recipes tab and the number open the recipe in two taps.

Does the grocery list link back to the meal plan? Yes. Each week's plan and list link to each other, and a button on every list returns to that week's meal plan.

Is the conversion chart metric? Yes. It converts US cups and spoons to milliliters, ounces to grams and oven temperatures from Fahrenheit to Celsius, rounded from exact US measures.
