Where the 144 tasks are
- 90 on nine countdown pages, 10 each
- 31 on the wedding week cards
- 13 on the day-of duties page
- 10 on the after-the-wedding page
I. The countdown, month by month
A master checklist puts 12 periods on one page, four highlights each; tap a heading to open that period's full page. Key dates holds 17 milestones with a target date and the date each was done.
Nine countdown pages each pair 10 essentials with 10 blank lines for your own:
- 12+ months: set the budget, book the venue.
- 10 to 11 months: book the photographer, reserve hotel room blocks.
- 8 to 9 months: order the attire, start the registry.
- 6 to 7 months: send the save-the-dates, check passports.
- 4 to 5 months: order the invitations, buy the rings.
- 3 months: hair and makeup trial, write the vows.
- 2 months: mail the invitations, draft the day-of timeline.
- 1 month: apply for the marriage license, make the seating plan.
- 2 weeks: pay final balances, assign day-of duties.
II. The wedding week
A week at a glance gives each of the last seven days a column. Two pages of day cards follow (7 to 4 days to go, then 3 to 1), each with a date line, seven checkboxes and that day's jobs already written in: confirm the final head count a week out, print the final seating chart at four days, the rehearsal and dinner at two, and set an alarm (and a backup) the day before. A "Don't forget" box fills the last space.
III. The big day, hour by hour
The wedding day timeline runs over two pages and lists what happens and who and where, with the times left for you. Morning has 12 moments, from breakfast to the end of the ceremony; evening has 14, from family photos to the send-off and vendor pack-up. Vendor arrivals covers 13 vendors with arrival, setup spot, contact and leaving time. Day-of contacts has 14 roles, ending with a family contact and an emergency contact.
Handing off the little jobs
The duties page lists 13 small jobs to give to someone else: bring the marriage license, hold the rings, pay and tip the vendors, take home the cake top. Each gets who, when and notes columns and a box to tick, with three blank rows; the two-week countdown reminds you to fill it in.
The section closes with an emergency kit list of 20 things to pack, an after-the-wedding page (thank-you notes, license copies, backing up photos) and 4 notes pages.
Questions
Our wedding is only six months away. Is it still useful? Yes. Nothing is dated, so start at the page that matches where you are and copy any earlier tasks you still need onto its blank lines.
What if we need more lines? Duplicate a page in your app. The tabs on a copy may not work in every app; the outline panel still reaches every section.
Can I print it? Yes. It's made for tablets first, but any page prints in landscape with "fit to page" on US Letter or A4, handy for giving helpers the timeline and duties pages. The emerald cover uses the most ink.
The rest of the Gatsby suite
The Gatsby Art Deco digital wedding planner holds the budget, guest list and vendors; the Wedding Seating Planner is where you make the seating plan. Both come with this checklist in the Wedding Planning Bundle, Gatsby Art Deco. More in Getting married.
